ABOUT ME

I am an emergency physician and expert in health information technology. I worked as a technology consultant for Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) and subsequently pursued graduate studies in information systems and health care policy at Carnegie Mellon University. After medical school, I trained in emergency medicine at UCLA and completed the RWJ Foundation Clinical Scholars fellowship in health services research, where I worked on qualitative and quantitative studies on the adoption of health information technology (HIT) in the emergency department (ED) and prehospital settings.

I am interested in the innovative application of information technology to improve health care delivery. I led an emergency department (ED) information systems modernization project, a three-year $7 million custom software development project to move BWH ED clinicians from paper-based to electronic documentation. Currently, I am responsible for clinical oversight of the implementation and integration of a new hospital laboratory system, as well as multiple projects related to a new enterprise EHR implementation, and health information innovation programs.
